Faith Market

Faith Market is a client-choice food pantry serving the Wamego area.

This unique model is designed to better meet the needs and dignity of our community while also reducing waste.

November Faith Market Update

The Faith Market is making a significant difference right now in our community. In the month of

November alone, we have served over 60 households, providing essential food and support to

families in need.

We are thrilled to share that this vital ministry just received a major boost from the recent

Wamego Community Foundation Faith Market! Thanks to the generosity and support of our

church family, friends, and local community, we successfully raised almost $13,000 during the

in-person event on Thursday, October 2nd.

This financial accomplishment is even more significant because we will soon be receiving an

additional match amount from the Foundation! All of these funds are being placed into a newly

established, dedicated fund for our ministry at the Wamego Community Foundation, providing a sustainable, long-term foundation for this mission.

Deepening Our Roots: Generous Community Partnerships

The success of the Faith Market relies on much more than financial giving—it depends on the

hands and hearts of our community. We are incredibly grateful for the broad partnerships that

sustain our mission day-to-day:

● Wamego First Presbyterian Church: We thank them for their continuous support,

providing both valuable volunteers and key food donations, including 25 ready-to-make

meals each month to help families.

● Cross Point Wamego: Their generosity was massive! They provided a literal truck bed

load of donations as well as multiple ready-to-go meal kits, helping to keep our shelves

stocked.

● Wamego Health Center & Wamego Family Clinic: Thank you for organizing and

completing a vital food and hygiene drive that wrapped up on November 5th. Special

appreciation goes to Kerry Whearty and Brian Howells for helping coordinate this

successful effort.

● Deer Creek Veterinary Hospital: They are currently hosting a food drive to benefit the

Faith Market. If you are near the Veterinary Hospital, please consider stopping by to

donate!

We are deeply grateful for the years of shared leadership, volunteer dedication and generous support that have helped Faith Market serve so many in our community.

As we look to the future, we are excited that Faith Market will continue as a ministry of Wamego UMC. Our commitment to feeding our community remains strong!
