With the help of Julene DeRouchey, SNAP-Ed Nutrition Educator, we have relaunched as a client choice pantry – Faith Market! Many things will remain the same but the two major changes implemented will better meet the needs and dignity of guests: location and client choice "shopping". Guests will now use our east entrance. The storage room off of the multipurpose room has been transformed into a pantry. This location provides a spacious pantry and more privacy for guests. When guests arrive at the pantry, they will be given a shopping list based on the number of people in their household. Volunteers will assist guests with the new process of selecting foods to best meet their needs and preferences. The client choice process reduces food waste and better equips guests with foods that fulfill their health needs.
Faith Market relies on monetary and food drive donations to procure food and toiletry items. Donations can be brought to our office at anytime. Monetary donations can also be made via our online giving platform, Vanco. A guide on food donations is available here. If you’re interested in becoming a Faith Market volunteer, please contact our office.
